Welcome

Welcome to my practice. I work with adolescents, adults, and families. My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and solution-focused. Therapy offers a supportive space to better understand yourself, make meaningful changes, and learn practical tools to handle life’s challenges while working toward your personal goals. I use evidence-based treatments and tailor therapy to each individual’s unique needs. I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I am here to support you—or a loved one—as you navigate emotional challenges and move toward a more fulfilling life.

I provide practical tools
for meaningful change.
Areas of Expertise

My work is grounded in evidence-based treatments, primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I also integrate mindfulness-based approaches and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) when appropriate. I specialize in helping adolescents, young adults, and adults manage depression and other mood disorders, anxiety disorders (including panic, generalized anxiety, OCD, social anxiety, and school refusal), eating disorders and body image concerns, ADHD, and impulse control challenges.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a time-limited, goal-focused approach that helps clients understand the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Together, we identify patterns that contribute to distress—such as anxiety, depression, or anger—and develop practical strategies to shift unhelpful thinking, build more effective behaviors, and manage difficult emotions. Clients practice skills between sessions to support lasting change in daily life.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

DBT is designed for individuals who struggle with intense emotions. It combines individual therapy with skills training in mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. For adolescents, parents are included in skills training to support practice at home. DBT is both compassionate and practical, with strong research support for adolescents and adults. I offer individual DBT-informed therapy and skills training, though I do not provide a full comprehensive DBT program.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT stems from CBT and is infused with mindfulness and acceptance skills. The goal is to help individuals acknowledge and distance themselves from painful experiences, embrace the present, and live by their values. There is a strong focus on developing a different relationship with thoughts and feelings.

FAQs
What Is the First Step?

Contact me for an initial brief phone consultation so we can discuss your concerns, answer any initial questions, and determine whether I’m the right fit for you.

If we decide to move forward, we’ll schedule a consultation meeting which is typically 90 minutes. During this session, we’ll review your reasons for seeking treatment, I’ll conduct a thorough assessment of your history, and you’ll have time to ask questions about therapy.

How often will we meet?

Most clients meet weekly for 45-minute sessions. That said, therapy is flexible and tailored to each person’s needs. During the initial consultation, we’ll discuss your goals and work together to create a treatment plan that feels appropriate for you.

How long does a treatment last?

I provide evidence-based therapy that is goal-focused and typically short-term. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy often lasts between three and six months, though the length of treatment varies depending on individual needs and goals. We’ll discuss expectations around duration during the initial consultation and revisit them as therapy progresses.

Do You Accept Insurance? How Does Payment Work?

I am not in network with insurance plans. However, I am an out-of-network provider and will provide you with a detailed billing statement that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. I accept credit cards for payment of all services. I recommend contacting your insurance company directly to ask about your out-of-network mental health benefits.

Do you offer teletherapy?

Yes, I offer in person and teletherapy sessions over zoom. I am licensed in New York and Connecticut.
